Loving From A Distance
Today I was reminded of something my mother has told me many times throughout my life - I call it a LaRue-ism:
"We should love all of mankind, but sometimes you have to love someone from a distance; And sometimes the distance is greater than others"
I'm a helper and nurturer by nature and I believe everyone is capable of making a positive contribution to society no matter what the circumstances. I have gone to great lengths at times to help people...even to the point of putting myself in harms way. No I don't think I'm special or a saint by any means - I just want everyone to live happy and productive lives. To me everyone is on a path to find the the "Unconditional Love Source" and everyone's path is different - some more rocky than others with deep crevices and steep cliffs. And hey can't we all use some help at times... I know I can!
But have you ever experienced someone who violates your trust and completely just sucks your energy to the point you just have to say "STOP"? Today I had the opportunity to look at a past situation once again... and I had to remind myself of the wise words of my mother and give myself permission to just acknowledge, accept and "Love from a Distance"!
